DUES INCREASE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2007 |
As we discussed at our November 2nd Members' Meeting, the 357 Board has made the decision to remain affiliated with ETI. This will allow us to maintain a statewide voice on equestrian issues, have access to other ETI activities, and maintain a level of insurance that will protect our Corral, our Board, and our members.
However, this decision comes with a cost. As we also discussed, our Corral has been operating at a loss when our share of dues is compared with operating expenses, including the newsletter, holiday party, and insurance costs. For the past several years, we have had to rely on fundraising efforts to supplement our operating budget and pay our insurance bill. This was compounded by ETI National's decision to increase their annual dues.
At its November 9th meeting, the Board voted to increase the Corral 357 dues to the schedule shown below, effective January 1, 2007. The dues increase will allow 357 to operate on a cash neutral basis, allowing our fund raising efforts to go toward projects and activities such as park and trail improvements, Corral equipment, and MAU emergency equipment. The Board understands that any dues increase is painful, but increasing everyone's dues spreads the cost most fairly, rather than placing the burden on the small group of volunteers who work at the fundraising events.
If you renew early and the Corral is able to postmark it to National by Dec. 31st, you can renew at the old rates. Anything postmarked by the Corral after the 31st will be at the new rates. Corral 357 Membership
